Zoom Phone UC Davis

Zoom Phone is Coming to FOA

FOA is moving to Zoom Phone – a service that lets you make and receive calls directly from your computer using your existing campus phone number. Starting on Nov. 13, 2024, most members of FOA will move to Zoom Phone, replacing traditional desk phones and Cisco Jabber with a more flexible, convenient option.

Who’s Switching to Zoom Phone?

Initially, individual users will transition to Zoom Phone. Specialized, departmental and common area lines will continue using Cisco phones for now, with an upgrade planned for these in the future.

What You Need to Know

The Aggie Phone Migration Team is working closely with department liaisons to ensure a smooth transition and address needs such as shared lines and call routing. Keep an eye out for upcoming communications about your move to Zoom Phone. For more information now, visit our Zoom Phone project page or check out additional resources in the Knowledge Base.

Benefits of Zoom Phone

  • Convenience: Make and receive calls from anywhere—no desk phone needed. Use your campus number even when off-campus.
  • Enhanced Accessibility: Zoom Phone includes features like live captioning, voicemail transcription, screen reader support, and keyboard accessibility, making communication more accessible for everyone.
  • All-in-One Communication: With Zoom Phone, you can switch effortlessly between chat, voice, and video calls, all within the same app you already use for meetings, simplifying your communication and boosting productivity.
